
Randy Acker, DVM & Hank
After graduation from Colorado State University in 1979 Randy Acker moved to Sun Valley to start a career with the Sun Valley Animal Center. His focus has been in canine surgery with a particular emphasis on canine orthopedics. By attending courses over the years he has obtained the skills to achieve excellence in orthopedic surgeries. Courses attended include cruciate ligament repair (TPLO, TTA, and others), hip replacement (BioMedtrix, Kyon, Micro and Nano Hip Systems), bone plating, arthroscopy, external fixation, and many others. He has been the instructor for Kyon hip, and TATE Elbow courses. His interest in orthopedics has led him to two patents, invitations to lecture worldwide, and the development of the TATE Elbow. The elbow was developed and named after his yellow lab Tate who suffered from severe elbow arthritis.
Randy has many long term employees, two DVM brothers, and two DVM daughters making the practice a family business. The clinic moto is bring your pet to work and treat patients like they are your own pet.
