Maggie attended the University of New Hampshire where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Graduating with honors, Maggie also was a member UNH Alpine Ski Team and the National Association of Collegiate Honor Students. Maggie was then accepted to Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she received her degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2010.
While attending OSU, Maggie received a scholarship from Merck Merial to do research on bone plates at Tufts University, N. Grafton, MA. Dr. Acker also received the radiography award for the Class of 2010 for work in interpreting radiographs.
Maggie belonged to the student chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Holistic Club, the Canine Club and the Zoo and Wildlife Club.
Dr. Maggie Acker-Buck is currently a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) and she looks forward to helping your four legged friend move well through all stages of life at Sun Valley Animal Center’s new Canine Rehabilitation Center.
Dr. Maggie Acker-Buck is excited to be part of the family practice with her DVM father, sister, and uncles. Maggie lives in the valley with her husband, Riley Buck, and their dogs Fischer, Grover, and Susie.
