Pre-Surgical Protocol   We suggest following the protocol to ensure the best possible surgery procedure and recovery for your pet: Do not feed your pet after 8pm the night before surgery Water can be available at all times Walk your dog the morning before surgery so your pet can eliminate (urinate and defecate) If your pet is taking medications, let us know what is is and how often it should be given   Before the surgical procedure, we will do one or all of the following: Administer an anti-inflammatory injection Administer an injection for pain relief Administer a fentanyl patch   Depending on the procedure performed and the discomfort of your pet, your doctor may prescribe pain    relieving medication to take home with you.
